5D Mark III – Studio shot

I recently took a few shot’s of a friend who is a musician. It was a great chance to test out the new 5D Mark III in a studio setting.

In the limited testing I have enjoyed using the camera. Small features have impressed me, like having the autofocus point switch to a different spot based on how you are holding it (normal or portrait). So far I really like using the new body and look forward to putting it through its paces.

Christmas body paint portrait

Here is a photo from a shoot I did this week with my make-up artist Melanie. She needed a new Christmas card shot for her clients and I thought this would be a good opportunity to try out my new Sony A65 camera in a studio setting.

The Sony performed great with the 85mm 2.8. This combo was very light and I was pleased with the results. I normally use the Nikon D700 and a 70-200 F2.8 and I was impressed enough with the Sony that I used it for 90% of the shoot.

A fun shot I took of a buddy. Looks like it would be a good halloween pic!

Pic of the day…

Had a fun shoot last week with Julie (Make up Artist) and Sabrina (the model). Here are a couple of the different looks we did.

Poll time!

I shot the lovely model Rachel of Elite Modeling last summer. We came up with some great images and I found myself in editing tweaking the same photo several different ways.

I’d be curious to hear from the visitors of my site about which version of the below photos they prefer.

Feel free to provide comments as to why you might prefer one version over another.

Pic of the day…

Anastazia is a great local model I worked with a couple summers ago. This shoot produced several images that I consider to be personal favorites.

Group Portrait at the Red Roof Lodge!

My family and friends have a few gatherings each year at the Red Roof Lodge in Leavenworth, WA. We’ve been coming here for about the last 10 years and it ‘s been an amazing process to watch the property develop. The pool is absolutely fantastic and overlooks the entire valley!

Over the years we try to take a group portrait when we get together each summer and winter. Our group shots have grown significantly over the years as friends and family find out how cool this place is.

This photo is from last summer. I’m the guy standing on the far left. I had to trigger the camera and still be able to run around the pool and get in the photo before the shutter went off.
