Camera girl

I had a fantastic shoot yesterday with a lovely young model named Cristina and our make-up artist Sofia.

Here are a few snaps. Shot with a Nikon D700.

Christmas body paint portrait

Here is a photo from a shoot I did this week with my make-up artist Melanie. She needed a new Christmas card shot for her clients and I thought this would be a good opportunity to try out my new Sony A65 camera in a studio setting.

The Sony performed great with the 85mm 2.8. This combo was very light and I was pleased with the results. I normally use the Nikon D700 and a 70-200 F2.8 and I was impressed enough with the Sony that I used it for 90% of the shoot.

Had a fun shoot last week with Julie (Make up Artist) and Sabrina (the model). Here are a couple of the different looks we did.

Billie Holliday themed image…

This photo is from a shoot last year with Faithlyn. The make-up artist I work with (Melanie) had a fun concept to do a Billie Holliday type theme giving the model a bit of a vintage look.

Random Pic of the Day

Here’s an image from my portfolio that was taken during a shoot last summer. Looking forward to some warmer weather in Seattle to be able to shoot outdoors again.

Hair!

At the end of a session we’ll frequently goof around and take some fun photos. These are the shots we take right before we start packing up the gear. The snaps are unplanned and just a way to blow off a little creative steam but sometimes you have a happy accident where the image turns out better than expected.

Stock fashion photo…

I worked with the model Alley on a shoot that I used for my stock catalog at Istockphoto. With stock photography the preference seems to be clean, uncluttered images that can be easily isolated and cut out from the background. Here is an example of a stock image from our shoot.

Poll time!

I shot the lovely model Rachel of Elite Modeling last summer. We came up with some great images and I found myself in editing tweaking the same photo several different ways.

I’d be curious to hear from the visitors of my site about which version of the below photos they prefer.

Feel free to provide comments as to why you might prefer one version over another.

Pic of the day…

Anastazia is a great local model I worked with a couple summers ago. This shoot produced several images that I consider to be personal favorites.

Location Fashion Shoot…

This is one of my favorite locations to shoot. My friend has an amazing home in Redmond, WA filled with many unusual patterns and textures to work with. I could shoot there for hours and not scratch the surface of all the potential places to create great images.

I was working with Ashley (model) last summer at the home during one of the hottest days of the year in the pacific northwest. It got a bit sweaty but the images were worth it!

Red Fashion

Here’s a couple of older shots I took (Dec 2008) from a favorite model of mine.

Action!

Had a great test shoot with Laura oven the weekend. Laura is a model that has some martial arts skills using weapons, so we thought it would be fun to capture some action shots with a medieval theme.
